Patient Care Specialist (Medical Receptionist)
The Patient Care Specialist plays a vital role in providing administrative support in a medical setting, ensuring exceptional customer service and efficient patient flow. This role involves tasks such as patient registration, insurance verification, and cross-training for back-office clinical duties while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides outstanding customer service and maintains a compassionate and welcoming atmosphere.
- Verifies and updates patient insurance information at the time of registration.
- Maintains strong knowledge of Medical Insurance Plans, including co-pays, deductibles, and coverage limits.
- Collects all insurance, co-pays or deductibles, or Self-Pay amounts at the time of registration for each patient.
- Answers the phone with a polite, patient-centered manner demonstrating a commitment to positive patient experiences through outstanding Customer Service.
- Maintains Fast Pace Customer Service levels and facilitates patient flow by notifying the provider of patient's arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff appropriately.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent with a current CPR license
- 1 year of customer experience, preferably urgent care
- Basic PC skills, including typing, utilization of a mouse, and ability to use basic software such as MS Outlook and Word
