The Director of Information Technology will serve as the operational and strategic leader for all technical functions within the organization, overseeing the ERP, IT, and web development teams. The focus will be on building a robust, future-ready infrastructure, managing technical projects, implementing best practices, and ensuring data security and compliance.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop and execute a technology roadmap that aligns with organizational mission, vision, goals and enables scalable growth.
- Establish policies and best practices for cyber and data security, compliance and risk management, ensuring these are continuously updated as the business evolves.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes through technology, and guide decisions on new software, tools, and systems.
- Directly oversee Netsuite ERP administrators, IT staff, and developers, setting clear goals, KPIs, and career development plans for each.
- Facilitate team training to ensure skill development in current systems and emerging technologies, focusing on onboarding for new technical personnel.
- Foster a collaborative culture and act as a bridge between technical teams and other departments, translating technical initiatives into business impact.
- Build and manage a project pipeline that supports both immediate and long term business needs, coordinating cross-functional projects that involve IT, development, and Netsuite ERP.
- Utilize project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) to ensure timely project delivery, efficient resource allocation, and responsive support for internal teams.
- Lead the optimization and maintenance of ERP system (Netsuite), ensuring they are fully aligned with business processes and capable of supporting future growth.
- Oversee the IT infrastructure, including networks, cybersecurity protocols, and system upgrades to maintain high levels of performance, reliability, and data protection.
- Oversee and provide hands-on support with web development and Netsuite administration to support team goals, including occasional coding responsibilities.
- Evaluate and manage third-party vendors and service providers (including SAAS), especially those integral to ERP and IT support, to ensure alignment with organizational standards and budgets.
- Stay current on trends in business, technology, security, and software relevant to distribution and supply chain management, identifying technologies that may provide a competitive advantage.
- Lead initiatives to enhance system efficiencies, leverage data analytics for business intelligence, and automate repetitive tasks where possible.
- Ensure all organizational activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Respect confidentiality in discussing internal matters related to information technology.
- Participate in fostering an organizational culture that values innovation, promotes inclusion, and inspires excellence in the work environment.

Qualifications
- 10 years in IT, ERP, or systems management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a distribution or logistics-heavy organization.
- BA in Information Technology or equivalent program.
- PMP, Agile or Scrum certifications desired.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (experience with Netsuite or similar platforms preferred), project management software, and cybersecurity protocols.
- Previous programming experience with a strong understanding of JavaScript.
- Backbone.js experience or experience with MVC preferred.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams, prioritize projects effectively, and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in creating and executing technology roadmaps that drive organizational growth and scalability.
- Ability to manage multiple, complex, and ongoing projects.
- Technology acumen, reporting, and strong data analysis aptitude.
- Eagerness for solving problems and a commitment to accepting responsibility.
- Strong organizational skills and basic software competencies in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
