Purchasing Lead Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Lead to join our team at Favor Partners. As a Purchasing Lead, you will be responsible for managing project purchasing activities, including supplier qualification, negotiations, and selection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with suppliers to negotiate contracts, including annual renewals and long-term strategic sourcing agreements.
- Manage project purchasing activities, including supplier qualification, negotiations, and selection.
- Coordinate with Supplier Development to monitor and develop new suppliers.
- Issue RFQs, analyze quotes, and source the lowest delivered total cost for prototype and serial production parts.
- Place Purchase Orders (PO's) for the purchase of components and materials.
- Serve as a liaison between Suppliers and Customers.
- Facilitate continuous improvement and VA/VE workshops with suppliers to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Monitor the cost status of each component and negotiate with the supply base to stabilize costs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering, business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the automotive manufacturing environment.
- International sourcing experience and strong negotiation skills.
- Proven cost reduction, continuous improvement, and VA/VE experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and handle multiple projects.
- Exceptional communication skills.
