FBI-LEEDA Inc. is in search of a highly organized, very motivated, detail-oriented, and at more times than not, self-directed individual for our Curriculum and Instruction Specialist position.  This position is part of a highly functioning office and is responsible for all aspects of supporting, recommending, creating, and assessing our curriculum and instruction program. The primary goals and responsibilities of the Curriculum and Instruction Specialist is to coordinate and monitor the effective delivery of law enforcement leadership, general leadership, general training, and specialized training curriculums of the various training programs offered by FBI-LEEDA. To accomplish these tasks, the Curriculum and Instruction Specialist works closely with the staff, subject matter experts, a curriculum advisor/review committee, and contracted staff/faculty. This position is also responsible for ensuring that our course offerings are current and that our instructional programs and instructors are adequately supported. The Curriculum and Instruction Specialist is assigned to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for functional supervision.

Our membership and learning partners are chief executives or command-level officers, directors and commissioners of public safety agencies, and criminal justice professional staff. The full-time staff members support a cadre of contracted instructors who teach classes across the nation and beyond.


Position:

This is a full-time and office-based position in Malvern, Pennsylvania. This position offers a competitive salary and a full benefits package. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional leadership, research, counsel and guidance in developing, organizing, administering, updating, and evaluating the curriculum for FBI-LEEDA.
  • Periodically audit and review FBI-LEEDA courses to ensure curriculum delivery by contracted instructors is consistent with FBI-LEEDA learning objectives and expectations.
  • Ensure that the prescribed curriculum conforms to the standards established by FBI-LEEDA and any required states’ standards and training boards.
  • Research and coordinate development of new and revised curriculum for FBI-LEEDA.
  • Organize ad review the recommendations of focus groups and curriculum review committees to ensure contributions are integrated with learning objectives established by FBI-LEEDA.
  • Manage on-boarding, professional development and in-service programs for FBI-LEEDA instructors.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and direction to FBI-LEEDA for all educational matters.
  • Assist in strategic planning for educational programs.
  • Analyze, interpret and disseminate feedback from course and instructor evaluations.
  • Interpret the present curriculum and proposed curriculum updates to the appropriate staff, instructors and stakeholders.
  • Keep informed on the latest research, trends, and developments in all areas of criminal justice, police leadership and present for staff as necessary. 
  • Monitor/update reading lists, resource books, and supplementary resource materials used in educational programs.
  • Facilitate periodic meetings, as determined by the COO and or Executive Director (ED) with FBI-LEEDA instructors and curriculum review committee.
  • Serve as a resource for the FBI-LEEDA instructors and our partners.
  • Develop and manage a central depository of training resources, and any information deemed appropriate, for FBI-LEEDA instructors, to include but not limited to intranet and or Share Point. 
  • Assist with special events as needed.
  • Support in-person and virtual partner engagement events, processes and campaigns.
  • Manage and produce written and visual/multimedia content for presentations to ensure continuity and consistency with FBI-LEEDA training material.
  • Develop, maintain, review, and update the Association’s share point page for staff and instructors.
  • Assist with answering telephone calls and general email inquiries coming into the office.
  • Assist with other external and internal communications duties as needed.
  • Maintain contact forms for all FBI-LEED instructors and update as necessary. 
  • Other duties as assigned by management team that are consistent with your job role and function.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the law enforcement associations to raise awareness of FBI-LEEDA.


 Aptitudes and Proficiencies 

  • Academic and or training background in criminal justice, adult learning and curriculum development.
  • Proficiency in curriculum and instruction evaluation processes, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Practical understanding of adult learning and adult education environment.
  • Demonstrated willingness to engage in continuous career development and improvement. 
  • Intermediate or higher understanding of information and communication technology systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, including the ability to research and gather information from varied sources.
  • Working knowledge and proficient level of experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate or higher skill level with MS Office 365, visual arts, and presentation software.
  • Strong editing skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Premier, Audition) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as part of a dynamic and goal-oriented team.
  • Ability to work professionally with internal and external stakeholders to support the academic mission of FBI-LEEDA.

Minimum Education, Experience and Requirements:

Specialist must have a master’s degree in a relevant field, to include but not limited to, criminal justice, public administration, and or business administration, and at least three years’ experience training/instructing in law enforcement and or a higher educational criminal justice program, etc. The Specialist must have served in law enforcement at the rank of Captain or above. Valid driver’s license required.

 

Physical Requirements: Must be able to exert a negligible amount of force to move objects; classification consistent with light work.
