We are looking for highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our team. Our trades include: Concrete Carpenters, Carpenters, Finish Carpenters, Masons, Mason Operators and Mason Tenders, Crane Operators, Sheet Metal and Roofing, Welders, and Ironworkers. Our skilled trade employees will be responsible for learning to read construction drawings, performing job duties along with the skilled trade, as well as adhering to safety protocols, maintaining tools, assisting with minor repairs, and performing other duties as assigned by supervisors.
RESPONSIBILITIES (in addition to specific craft duties):
- Understand the importance of consistency and proper handling techniques.
- Learn to read and understand construction drawings and specifications by identifying dimensions, notes, and details relevant to concrete work.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols on the job site, including the proper use of PPE and safe tool operation.
- Maintain and organize tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean and in good working order.
- Assist in minor repairs under supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned by a superintendent, supervisor, or crew leader.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION
- High school diploma or GED; alternatively, 2-3 years of relevant experience and/or training in your skill/trade.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and technical manuals.
- Basic math skills are essential.
- Capable of following instructions provided in written, verbal, or diagrammatic form with common sense understanding.
- OSHA 10-hour certification.
- Certification in operating rough terrain forklifts.
- Certification in operating aerial lifts.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be willing to travel to various jobs.
- Flexibility to work in other trades as needed.
- Possess all tools listed on the Ferguson Construction tool list to advance to the next level.
- Availability for overtime and weekend work as needed.
- Perform general maintenance and cleanup tasks.
- Ability to regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally handle up to 100 pounds.
- Attend relevant training courses when requested to progress to the next level.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and maintain a professional attitude.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials and equipment, typically up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Stamina to work in physically demanding conditions, including standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing for extended periods.
- Capability to operate construction machinery and tools, including but not limited to power tools, scaffolding, and ladders.
- Dexterity to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, such as measuring, cutting, and assembling materials.
- Endurance to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and adverse weather, while adhering to safety protocols.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities at this level.
