We are looking to add a Fabrication Manager to our KC team. You will be responsible for the overall production and deliverables of thematic displays and props, including but not limited to scheduling, material sourcing, cost tracking, and final signoff for build plans.
You will report directly to the VP of National Operations. Position does require being onsite full time, with the ability to travel to various events.
Salary is $60-65K
What you’ll do:
· Operating a flatbed CNC Machine
· Be efficient in utilization of woodworking and metal machinery
· Safely and efficiently operate table saws, drill presses, handheld routers, sanders, chop saws and welders.
· Packing and crating of materials
· Scheduling workforce to coincide with workload and deadlines
· Establish standards and best practices for cost-efficient, lightweight fabrication
· Demand quality deliverables and maintain standards for quality control
· Track costs and material lists on a per-show basis
· Develop a trusted workforce as the department grows while maintaining a positive work environment
· Keep current with OSHA guidelines and require full adherence in the shop area.
· Enforce a safety policy with the workforce that is strictly followed
· Negotiate with local and national vendors and identify cost-saving opportunities.
· Day-to-day supervision of staff to ensure accountability
· Create a safe, challenging, and rewarding environment for the crew to thrive in
· Provide accurate cost estimates to the account team
· Understand and work within given budgets for projects
· Advise when a project exceeds budgeted allowance to management before commencing fabrication
· Weekend work will be required in conjunction with workload and project deadlines.
Who You Are:
· High School Diploma or Diploma from a Trade or Industry School required
· Associate’s degree or Certificate Degrees in building, cabinetry, or carpentry preferred
· Experience in trade shows or related industry would be great
· Some level of management or supervisory role
· Experience in quality control a plus
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
· MUST be able to meet deadlines
· Very hands on and able to manage internal customers’ expectations and timelines
