The role of this Fabrication team member at Hufft is vital to delivering innovative projects for our clients through a collaborative process. No matter the scale, each project starts with a strong concept that is a response to the unique conditions of that project. The end goal is to make truly meaningful spaces for people, that add value to their place. The success of that starts with the people on our team.
The position requires an experienced individual with a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study, as well as a broad knowledge of fabrication principles and practices, and project management. The role will be involved in all phases of fabrication from conception to completion. Self-driven and strategic, this position is expected to have exceptional problem-solving skills and must thrive in a highly collaborative environment. The position will be responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. In addition to collaborating closely with our internal staff, this position will also work directly with outside clients to manage, communicate, and streamline the process from initial idea to a completed project.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively manage the flow of fabrication projects from start to completion. Duties may include preparation of assembly shop drawings, cost estimation, client and subcontractor communication, coordination of materials procurement, budgeting, and scheduling are all skills essential for this position.
- Lead the creation of shop drawings for cabinetry, custom furniture and other specialty objects based upon preliminary ideals, concepts, data, research, etc.
- Work with other design staff to translate schematic designs/ideas into constructible realities. Understand and mitigate risks associated with creating custom designs.
- Rapidly iterate through design detailing options based on material, budget, and desired aesthetic.
- Work with accounting to monitor financials of every project, ensuring business and client expectations are achieved.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of experience in a similar Project Manager role.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
- Proficient user of CabinetVision.
- Working knowledge of Revit, Rhino, and Sketchup a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other employees as well as outside clients.
- Past experience in at least one of the following areas: Architecture, Construction, or Custom Fabrication.
