Job Summary:
The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the manufacturing production schedule to ensure timely delivery of products while maximizing efficiency. This role involves analyzing demand, managing inventory levels, and collaborating with various departments to balance production capacity with customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure raw materials and resources are available to meet production goals.
- Monitor work orders, track production progress, and adjust schedules as needed to minimize downtime and meet deadlines.
- Analyze data to identify potential bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement in the production process.
- Work closely with the quality control team to ensure all products meet company and industry standards.
- Communicate with suppliers and vendors regarding material availability and lead times.
- Generate and maintain reports on production performance, efficiency metrics, and scheduling adherence.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimize workflows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- 2 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or a related role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production processes, material requirements planning (MRP), and inventory management.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in lean manufacturing.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.
