What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Operator Trainee position at FGS?
In this position you will:
- Gain an understanding of web-offset printing and the 4-color printing process
- Learn how to hang paper rolls, create splices, change plates and blankets, and fill and maintain ink fountains
- Work with the Press Operator to set up the press to run jobs using job instructions prepared specifically for each project
- Learn how to monitor the press while it’s running and make adjustments to ensure that high quality materials are being produced
- Gain the confidence and skills necessary to run the press independently
