Who we are and what we do:
The Division of Accounts, TRICOR Centralized Accounting, is responsible for maintaining the agency's Sage X3 ERP system including recording transactions and providing general ledger accounting services for financial reporting and ensuring records in the agency's ERP system are in agreement with the State's Edison ERP system.
How you make a difference in this role:
The Division of Accounts, TRICOR Centralized Accounting, is seeking an Accountant 3 that is detail oriented, has strong analytical skills, and an understanding of computer software such as spreadsheet and general ledger accounting programs to organize and report financial data.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries in the agency's and the State's ERP systems, and general ledger account reconciliations, to ensure the execution and delivery of efficient, timely and insightful monthly and annual financial closings of the agency's ledger. Prepare accounting records for high-risk, high-volume, and/or complex transactions to ensure accurate entry. Help develop procedures to improve departmental efficiency. Review and approval of work done by subordinates to ensure accuracy and timeliness of accounting transactions and records. Manage the agency's accounts payable and/or accounts receivable functions including maintaining effective policies and procedures, processing invoices, monitoring/enhancing internal controls, and supervision of staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting and experience equivalent to three years of full-time professional accounting or auditing work. OR Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree including thirty-six quarter hours in accounting and experience equivalent to three years of full-time professional accounting or auditing work. OR Substitution of Graduate Education for Experience: Graduate coursework credit received from an accredited college or university in accounting may substitute for the required experience on a month for month basis to a maximum of one year (e.g., 36 graduate quarter hours in the above listed field may substitute for one year of the required experience.) OR Designated as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and experience equivalent to 1 year of full-time professional accounting or auditing work.
