Primary Purpose and Function :
The Assistant Program Manager is a seasoned producer and / or working task leader who applies a comprehensive and in-depth working knowledge of financial / business concepts, contract management, policies, practices, processes, and procedures to the management of ship service contracts programs. A successful assistant program manager works alongside the program manager, with general guidance from management. Errors at this level can cause significant delays, expenses, and / or disruption to the organization. Assists with the preparation and maintains management control (financial / business planning and scheduling) systems for moderately complex contracts, programs, projects, and / or tasks to determine and maintain the most cost-effective method of accomplishing work, identify and mitigate risks, etc. Contracts may range in value from $5 to $20 million.

- Demonstrates knowledge of market and competition and aligns department with strategic goals.
- Demonstrates a proven ability to manage multiple projects from multiple customers simultaneously.
- Demonstrates strong financial literacy, including the ability to read / analyze program and department budgets and implement cost-saving measures where applicable.
- Working knowledge of cost schedule management.
- Working knowledge of change management.
- Working knowledge of risk / opportunity management.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Microsoft Project and Excel).

- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work on seaborn vessels and in uncomfortable working environments.
