About the Role:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Human Resources Generalist will play a critical role in supporting and executing key HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws.The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of HR policies, and the ability to provide exceptional support to both employees and management
Location: This role is onsite, with the potential for hybrid work.
Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees' HR-related questions and concerns.
- Support conflict resolution and maintain a positive work environment through proactive communication and problem-solving.
- Assist in conducting investigations into workplace complaints or concerns, ensuring proper documentation and fair treatment.
- Help create and maintain a positive work culture.
- Support recruiting and onboarding process
- Performance Management:
- Assist in the development and implementation of performance management processes, including performance reviews, feedback sessions, and goal setting.
- Support managers in addressing employee performance issues and developing improvement plans.
- Compensation & Benefits Administration:
- Support employee benefits programs (health, dental, retirement, etc.) and assist employees with benefits-related inquiries.
- Ensure payroll data accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Training & Development:
- Assist in identifying training needs and help coordinate training sessions or workshops.
- Support career development programs and initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention.
- Compliance & Record-Keeping:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring confidentiality and data security.
- Assist with audits and HR reporting as required.
- HR Projects & Initiatives:
- Contribute to ongoing HR initiatives, such as diversity and inclusion programs, employee wellness initiatives, or company-wide culture-building efforts.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, HR trends, and regulatory changes to ensure continuous improvement in HR practices.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 2 years of experience in human resources or a related field.
- Experience with HR software (Rippling a plus)
- MS Office Suite(Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of HR laws, regulations, and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Bonus Skills / Experience:
- Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
- Experience with Rippling
- Previous start-up experience in a fast-paced or growing company is a plus.
Other Requirements:
- US Citizenship is required to obtain security clearance.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000
