What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at First Bank?
Position Purpose: A Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. A Maintenance Technician will usually be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around a facility.
Essential Duties:
Performing routine maintenance checks at bank branches throughout the state of Virginia.
Identify, plan, and schedule repairs with the Facilities Manager.
Fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair.
Fix or replace faulty electrical switches, outlets, light ballasts, bulbs
Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage
Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
Replacing various locks or keys as needed
Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof
Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
Conducting minor repairs on ATMs and drive-up equipment
Pressure washing where applicable
Performing minor carpentry, painting and drywall repairs
All other duties as necessary.
Communication:
This position requires a high level of verbal communication with staff throughout the banks and with outside vendors to guarantee accuracy.
Knowledge/Skills:
Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, groundskeeping, interpersonal skills to interact with employees, self-motivated, reliable, attention to detail, physical stamina. This position requires a general knowledge of computers and certain programs used to assist with managing maintenance requests.
Working Conditions:
This position requires travel throughout the state of Virginia; a company-owned vehicle, a cell phone and tools are provided. This person will need to be able to move about various environments, depending on the specific needs of the job. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to service lights, fixtures, etc. Sometimes outdoor work is required. In addition, some duties require the ability to move heavy furniture.
