Job Overview
First Baptist Church of Asheville is seeking a part-time Operations and Finance Assistant Administrator to support financial and administrative functions. The role involves data entry, financial record-keeping, payroll processing, contribution tracking, event scheduling, and facility management. Responsibilities
- Data entry, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Receipt and record all contributions made to the church (including electronic funds and online payments) and mail quarterly giving statements to all donors.
- Record keeping for financials, personnel, church membership, facility and maintenance work orders, etc.
- Prepare deposits for all receipts.
- Financial reporting for church committees and staff.
- Manage online calendar of events through ShelbyNext software program
- Maintain calendar of events for scheduling maintenance and custodial crews
- Manage door schedules for all facility events
- Oversee all external requests for facility usage
The Ideal Candidate:
- B.S. in accounting (or equivalent training)
- Financial accounting experience
- Fluency in various software programs (Microsoft Office, Shelby Accounting),
- Excellent communication skills,
- Enthusiastically affirming of FBCA Mission and vision of Beautiful Belonging,
- Available to work in person either five days per week (4 hr/day) or four days per week (5 hours per day)
First Baptist Church of Asheville was founded in 1827 and has been located at 5 Oak Street in downtown Asheville for nearly 100 years. Bi-weekly payroll happens for 75 people. We consider it a privilege to partner with five community ministries and three community partners in our facility each week, in addition to over 25 community groups each month.
