First Baptist Church of Taylor is seeking an Office Manager & Bookkeeper who is a growing Christ follower with strong moral and spiritual integrity. This person will be responsible for overseeing the church’s financial operations, maintaining accurate records, and assisting the church leadership with financial management. Key Responsibilities:
As the Office Manager & Bookkeeper, you will play a critical role in the stewardship and financial management of First Baptist Church. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for church leadership and other stakeholders.
- Budgeting: Collaborate with church leadership to develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring financial resources are allocated appropriately.
- Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records, including receipts, invoices, and other financial transactions, ensuring proper organization and easy access for audits.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee timely and accurate payment of invoices and ensure proper tracking of incoming funds.
- Banking and Cash Management: Manage church banking activities, including reconciling bank statements and overseeing cash flow.
- Compliance and Taxation: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and tax laws, including filing necessary tax returns and charitable contribution documentation.
- Financial Planning: Assist church leadership with financial decisions by providing insights and financial analysis.
- Financial Controls: Implement internal financial controls to protect church assets and minimize financial risks.
- Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with employment regulations.
- Financial Audits: Coordinate with external auditors to conduct bi-annual audits.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Previous experience in financial management, ideally in a non-profit or religious organization setting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in financial software such as ACS accounting software and spreadsheet applications.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with church leadership and staff.
- Preferred membership at First Baptist Church of Taylor or a willingness to become a member.
- A growing Christ follower with a commitment to biblical teachings and high moral and spiritual integrity.
Staff Relationship:
The Office Manager & Bookkeeper reports directly to the Lead Pastor and works closely with the Finance Team and other church staff members.
