This role will be fully onsite in Albion, IL.
As the HR Manager in a manufacturing environment, you will oversee a broad range of HR functions, including strategic recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labor laws and regulations. You will lead administrative tasks related to office procedures, reporting, data management, and record-keeping. Your role will also include managing union agreements, facilitating conflict resolution, and fostering effective communication between management and union representatives. With a focus on enhancing employee engagement, you will develop and implement initiatives aimed at improving workforce satisfaction and operational efficiency, supporting the company's strategic objectives while maintaining positive labor relations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, medical records, and training documentation.
- Track and manage employee attendance, including oversight of Call-Off and PTO logs.
- Administer and enhance safety programs, ensuring all eligible employees receive the necessary safety equipment and training.
- Lead the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring compliance with all paperwork and effective orientation and training.
- Provide performance management guidance to management, including coaching, career development, and corrective counseling.
- Collaborate with management and employees to improve work relationships, boost morale, and enhance productivity and retention.
- Serve as a primary liaison with payroll to address employee inquiries and resolve issues.
- Manage employee data within the HRIS system, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
- Offer HR policy guidance and interpretation to both management and employees.
- Oversee job postings, award bids, manage bumping processes, and handle positions for organizational convenience.
- Ensure that all HR administrative functions are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate safety training sessions and maintain compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Attend and document employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintain and update job descriptions to ensure compliance with safety regulations and for use in medical claims.
- Keep the Employee Warning Notices Log current to track disciplinary actions and ensure proper documentation.
- Complete and submit employment verification documents as requested for current and former employees.
- Generate and distribute reports as needed to support HR functions and management requests.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the HR manager or department head, ensuring the smooth operation of HR functions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years of experience in Human Resources within a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in a unionized setting required
- Strong background in recruitment and selection activities
- Knowledge of benefits administration
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Ability to multitask effectively
