Position Overview
The Program Coordinator will assist the Program Director with all program operations. The Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing the service delivery objectives including but not limited to overseeing event planning, supporting existing program initiatives, liaising with colleagues and community partners. The Program Coordinator will ensure that quality service to those accessing the helpline is expected and delivered in a respectful and ethical manner. The Problem Gambling Program Coordinator serves a population seeking assistance for problem gambling for themselves and/or loved ones. When the Program Director is unavailable, the Program Coordinator has the knowledge and judgement to ensure the program operates smoothly and that protocols are followed. The Program Coordinator is a warm, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, professional and detail-oriented leader.
Essential Job Functions
  • Oversees and participates in expansion of PG prevention, outreach, treatment, and training programs.
  • Arrange for the dispatch of products, information packages, brochures, etc. to clients and other
  • Assists with answering calls/chats/text on the helpline as needed.
  • Provides information and guidance by answering questions and explaining procedures.
  • Maintains and improves quality results by adhering to standards and guidelines and recommending improved procedures.
  • Maintains current program knowledge and participates in educational opportunities.
  • Makes recommendations for staff support and professional development.
  • Helps leadership identify and address organizational development issues that challenge and support health and
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and laws and maintains accountability standards to funders.
  • Takes part in administrative backup/on call rotation.
  • Delegates tasks and responsibilities appropriately.
  • Participate in planning, development, coordination, and presentation of training and education programs.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures.
Non-Essential Job Functions
  • Contribute to the overall strength of the agency and the department by completing all other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in the social services field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High level of dependability, attendance, and accountability.
  • Minimum of one year experience in the implementation of service delivery objectives.
  • Solid working knowledge of addiction and behavioral health.
  • Experience in crisis intervention.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Compassion and empathy to appropriately respond to the unique circumstances and needs of all callers.
  • Good judgement related to managing challenging calls, requesting/support as necessary and handling unique situations.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Passion for helping others in the area of problem gambling as well as suicide prevention, mental health, and other addictions.
  • Ability to work with co-workers, callers, and administrators in a respectful and cooperative manner regardless of differences in values or opinions.
  • Ability to navigate comfortably through multiple technology platforms.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office including Power Point, Adobe Acrobat or comparable programs.
  • Compassionate, fair, and kind use of discretionary authority.

Working Environment
  • A climate controlled, contact center environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit and perform computer work for extended periods as needed.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted. Heavier weight with assistance.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Overnight travel may be required.
