What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator position at WV Department of Human Services?
General Description: Under general direction, this position will assist with the management of the Division of Payments and Vendor Maintenance in support of operations within the Bureau for Social Services. Duties may include reviewing payment rosters and W-9s submitted by various entities; research complaints from providers and other sources from payees or other agencies that have received such complaints from payees; train and supervise temporary staff; gather and analyze data from program software on spending trends by payment type, duplicate payments, stale dated checks, and direct deposit statistics; host training classes on payment functionality in program software and respond to requests from field staff for solving payment problems; assist with software defects, including maintaining and tracking defects, documenting new defects and testing software updates to ensure problems are resolved; assist in maintaining and writing payment procedures for co-workers and field staff in all county offices; be cross-trained in all aspects of the program and have the ability and knowledge to perform all duties associated with the program; explore and test new procedures in program software; and other duties as assigned. Report preparation and presentation of information may be required to internal and external stakeholders. Successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing. This position reports directly to the Director of the Division of Payments and Vendor Maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in the program area or related field.
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience with child welfare programs and research techniques.
