Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Administrative Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting daily office operations and ensuring efficient workflow. This position requires strong time management skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. As an Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for various administrative tasks that contribute to the smooth functioning of the office.
Duties
- Assists the minister and church leaders in conducting administrative, outreach, and financial activities of the church
- Responsible for creating the weekly bulletin for Sundays' worship celebration , and a weekly email to the congregation.
- Performs clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and document preparation.
- Assists the Financial Committee in producing the needed forms and letters that go out to the congregation once a year.
- Answers phone calls, emails and social media messages and routes to appropriate persons or committees.
- Types correspondence and reports accurately and efficiently.
- Reads and routes incoming correspondence. Locates and attaches appropriate files to be answered by the appropriate person, with follow-up as necessary.
- Composes, types and files routine correspondence and records of the church.
- Works with the church accountant in handling invoices and payroll.
- Greets visitors, ascertains nature of business and refers to the appropriate person.
- Represents the church in a professional and caring manner.
- Assists minister and church committees on various projects.
- Performs activities assigned to accomplish the Mission of the Church.
Skills
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in clerical duties with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent customer service skills to foster positive relationships with church members and visitors.
- Experience in office management practices and procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft programs: Word, Publisher and Excel. Also, the ability to use MailChimp and GMail (if not familiar with these programs, we can help you with that).
- Help to maintain the church Website, Facebook, Instagram and X that may involve creating events and uploading photos.
- Ability to type quickly and accurately for effective communication.
- Familiarity with computerized systems for record keeping and scheduling.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.41 - $13.92 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week
