What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Director- Day Shift- Clayton County Jail (FT) position at First Class Healthcare LLC?
Essential Duties
- Provides clinical direction and oversight of mental health programs that align with FCH’s healthcare standards and institutional policies.
- Coordinates mental health treatment planning with other treatment programs in the facility.
- Supervises staff, evaluates employee performance and makes hiring recommendations.
- Provides direct clinical services to meet mental health service requirements, that includes individual and group psychotherapy, psychological testing, training, and crisis intervention
- Reviews inadequacies with crisis intervention services and implement corrective steps as needed.
- Ensures reports are completed in a timely, professional manner, and that they include the administration and interpretation of psychological assessment techniques when appropriate.
- Provides in-service opportunities to mental health services staff, ensure compliance with FCH and facility in-service requirements.
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
- Maintains open communication with facility administration, security, medical and support staff to facilitate operation of mental health services and resolution of issues that arise.
- May be required to arrange and/or participate in a system of 24-hour crisis intervention services.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support FCH’s goals, objectives and values.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
- Knowledge of treatment approaches, evidence based practices and assessment standards.
- Knowledge and expertise in crisis intervention, and the diagnosis and treatment of individuals with psychological disorders and psychiatric distress.
- Proven leadership ability to direct effective mental health services and to motivate and develop staff towards excellence in their work.
- Strong attention to detail, follow-up and timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
