POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Administrator/CEO, working closely with a multidisciplinary team - the Medical Director, Director of Nursing-DON, and executive management, manages and oversees behavioral health clinical services and care for adolescent and adult Acute treatment patients. The Clinical Director manages the culturally sensitive clinical interventions, evaluations and care to patients. Manages resources, ensuring quality, cost effective delivery of services are provided in compliance with performance specifications, and regulating entities. Promotes an environment that supports the program goals, mission, vision, philosophy and caring values delivering a safe place for recuperation and growth. Manages the delivery of best practices, evidence-based knowledge, documentation of care and facilitates relevant educational sessions. Philosophy is created on a psychosocial, person-centered model of care and follows the core principles of resilience, recovery and stability.

Essential Duties:

  • Directs and develops the clinical services provided for specific levels of therapeutic care with best practices, evidence-based knowledge and clinical ethics. Ensures clinical Quality Assurance for all clinical treatment services/programs.
  • Ensures quality services are provided in compliance with state and federal regulatory: service standard requirements, performance specifications, HIPPA, administrative, documentation (treatment plans, case notes, written correspondence, patient charts), patient rights, and CLAS standards are adhered to. Ensures treatment planning is clinically appropriate and comprehensive.
  • Serve as a liaison to the medical/professional staff to ensure matters of clinical importance are conveyed to the Administrator/CEO that outlines clinical affairs including unusual occurrences.
  • Makes summary decisions when admissions, orders, and/or transfers are considered inappropriate. Provides direction and guidance to therapeutic staff through risk issues, documentation of care, timeliness of documentation, professionalism, productivity and administrative requirements relevant to providing clinical care to patients.
  • Review the patient care provided by service program staff and remedying any deficiencies or potential deficiencies that may be identified regarding clinical/medical knowledge or skill performance.
  • Assist and works with the Administrator/CEO regarding strategic and long-range planning as needed. Be available for individual evaluation and consultation to service program personnel.
  • Key member of leadership team, participates and attends scheduled management team meetings, or meeting attendance directed by Administrator/CEO. Provides required reports which are concise, with relevant clinical information about patient that is critically important to multidisciplinary team responsible for patient care.
  • Manages multiple tasks and successfully meets deadlines. Provides information to internal management team as appropriate to improve the quality of services and needed to resolve identified problems
  • Communicates and interacts effectively at all levels, and works collaboratively with others representative of the leadership management team. At all times, promotes effective communication with patients, family/guardians, staff, and other professionals.
  • Facilitates/schedules team case conference on a weekly basis to ensure coordinated implementation of treatment plans and service utilization, such that the comprehensive care of patients reflects the philosophy and objectives of First Dawn Recovery.
  • Works cooperatively with all department management to maintain compliance for accreditation requirements, develops and directs checks and balances, and internal auditing to guarantee policies and procedures established are being followed. Develops and implements evaluation of managed clinical operations.
  • Develop and implement program changes, collaborate with leadership management team in the development of policies and procedures as needed, focusing on promoting positive team dynamics and clinical excellence.
  • In partnership with HR Director, acts as a liaison with area universities, colleges, and vocational schools for recruiting graduates or potential intern placements promoting recruitment of staff for behavioral health services
  • Participate with process of hiring staff, direct on time performance evaluations of staff as established, and involved/oversee staff performance management, retention and corrective action considerations, and decisions.
  • Organize, coordinate and monitor the activities of the clinical staff and ensure quality and appropriateness of staff services provided meets established standards of care. Maintain compliance with all city, state and federal employment laws and First Dawn Recovery HR policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements

  • Master’s degree in behavioral health field – psychology, counseling, social work, medical or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience providing clinical services preferably in a behavioral healthcare (adult/adolescent) Acute program.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a clinical management position supervising therapeutic Acute programs serving adolescent/adult patients. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Licensed by the Board of Behavioral Health Examiners, valid driver’s license, Level I DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card, and able to pass required certifications, clearances, and background checks.
  • Must be 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license with a favorable driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Certifications or documented proficiency in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Must be flexible to adjust to the needs of a fast-paced environment, demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, and display proficient oral/written communication skills.
  • Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, shift changes. Candidate must be a self-motivated person with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Must possess the ability to coach, mentor, facilitate trainings and educational sessions, provide quality feedback to those managed, with demonstrated ability to Experience with EHR data systems and ability to manage required documentation and reporting requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
