Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs all job duties related to payroll processing and accounting.
- Complete general ledger accounting, including reconciling GL and bank control accounts, accounts payable and receivables, fixed assets, and financial statement preparation.
- Provides accounting expertise to all lending and deposit applications, and front-line personnel.
- Performs assigned responsibilities in regard to internal audits, independent external audits, and regulatory examinations.
- Performs all job duties in compliance with all banking acts, laws and regulations applicable to the accounting function.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in providing back-up to various functions within the accounting department.
- Assists in cost accounting and allocation including organizational and profit/cost center profitability and reporting.
- Assists with internal audits, external audits, and regulatory examination.
Qualifications Required
Required education may be satisfied by experience and/or working knowledge.
- A bachelor’s degree in business, Finance or Accounting
- 2 years of accounting and/or finance experience.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Sitting for extended periods of time, requires close visual acuity and the ability to work and operate computer applications and equipment including, copy machine, telephone, scanner, and other basic business equipment. Some infrequent travel is required for training and branch/department visitations. The job is within the normal office environment range.
Qualifications Preferred
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 5 years of accounting experience in a banking environment. Profit/cost accounting to include system design, implementation, and allocation experience is preferred.
