First Mennonite Church of Denver (FMC) is seeking a transitional, half-time, on-site employee to manage the daily administrative responsibilities in our office. Qualified candidates will have a strong work ethic, be highly organized and self-motivated, and have effective communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Congregational communication - produce and distribute weekly newsletter
- Worship - produce Sunday worship bulletin and service PowerPoint
- Provides support for special events (weddings, memorial services, etc.)
- FMC website - manage all aspects of www.fmcdenver.org: look and feel, updates, documents, videos and links
- Physical presence - scheduled working hours on site, minimal phone answering and personal greeting
- Leadership support - prepare for board and congregational meetings, function as recording secretary
- Finance - coordinate with accountant supporting financial responsibilities, prepare and make bank deposits
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail

Qualifications
- Experience in office administration for a small organization (3 years minimum)
- Personable; ability to positively interact with a wide variety of people with demeanor reflecting the church’s mission and values
- Ability to work closely with the pastor, staff and volunteers
- Excellent information technology skills, including website management and production of weekly documents for communication; worship preparation; fluent user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, OneDrive, Google Drive
- Strong ability to multitask, take own initiative, be a proactive problem solver, set priorities, organize work, and meet deadlines
- Must pass a background check
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Experience:
- Microsoft Office: 3 years (Preferred)
- Administrative experience: 3 years (Preferred)
