What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Peer Recovery Supporter position at First Step Recovery?
First Step Recovery is currently hiring for a Full-time Certified Peer Recovery Supporter. Must be willing to work day shift, evenings, and weekends as needed, and have flexibility with hours. Pre-employment Drug Screen and BCI fingerprints are required. Must have a minimum of 4-years driving history.
FSR is an approved facility for STARLRP ( Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program).

Qualifications include:
Must have current and valid Peer Recovery Certification through OhioMHAS.
Valid driver's license.
High School Diploma
Peer Recovery Supporter should have the following:
- Ability to share personal recovery experiences and to develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships.
- Ability to support others in recovery from a substance use disorder.
- Serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to recovering individuals in order to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery.
- Individual must have an understanding and respect for each individual's unique path to recovery.
- Peer Recovery Supporter must have a working knowledge of the drug and alcohol treatment system and a demonstrated commitment to the recovering community.
