POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking an experienced Collections Specialist to join our fast-growing STR Mechanical Team. The ideal candidate is responsible for managing accounting and financial activities for assigned companies. The duties include producing financial statements, forecasting future results, and directing accounting and other administrative staff.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
- Process payments to vendors according to terms and payment schedules
- Complete credit applications and obtain required signature for new vendors
- Process all New Vendor Request Forms by verifying correct signatures/authorizations and entering in the system
- Perform credit card account reconciliations at statement cut-off and as part of month end process
- Communicate with other teams regarding issues with payments, billing errors, or customer holds
- Communicate with the customer on billing inquiries, delayed payments and other issues
- Send customer reminders upon delays in payment – 31 days and older, if 30 day terms . This will include email and phone calls
- Create Monthly Statements to send to all customers
- Prepare periodic financial reports to track payments and balances
- Perform in-depth financial analysis to improve cash flow for the company and reduce outstanding balances
- Lead semi-monthly AR meetings with management regarding AR Aging
- Uphold exceptional customer service standards by consistently demonstrating professional etiquette in all interactions

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT
This position reports to the local controller.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or 3 years experience in accounting
- Proven experience in AR/Collections
- Microsoft Excel experience required
- Must be detail-oriented, have excellent organizational skills, and strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and make sure work is done properly and efficiently
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced office setting
- Industry experience is helpful but not required
- BuildOps experience is helpful but not required

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands to operate the computer keyboard reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
