FirstCarbon Solutions is searching for an IT Specialist (CG05) to be the subject matter expert to serve as the in-house IT Specialist. This role will coordinate and provide support for all software, hardware, and networks for the US ADEC companies. Coordinate between the company and external vendors / contractors about IT-related infrastructure and development; as well as consult with the department on networking issues that may come up and advise about potential fixes or efficiency controls. Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field required Industry certifications and memberships a plus Excellent IT, communication, leadership and management skills Ability to fill multiple roles simultaneously Proven track record of maintaining IT structural integrity Have working knowledge of network security structures, ISO, etc. as well as state and federal legal requirements for the protection of privacy and network security. Able to understand contract security requirements as needed to meet customer needs. Coordination with staff, schedules, and management.
Provides training and mentoring to all staff. Able to manage WAN, LAN, SAN, and EDI computer platforms, while looking for ways to grow networks in a cost-effective way to meet future needs. Highly proficient in Microsoft 365 and AWS is required.
The IT Associate will be looked to ensure that adequate resources are available to implement approved programs and policies, as well as provide policy recommendations for network security, equipment usage, network limitations, end-user processes and remote connections.
The IT Associate should be able to co-manage complex company projects, develop innovative network troubleshooting methods, and determine the rationale and methods for upgrading the company network software programs each time an update is released. This role will report to Regional IT Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess infrastructure on a regular basis to ensure it continues to meet necessary demands
- Manage daily operations of the IT department
- Develop new strategies and IT procedures to increase efficiency, enhance workflow, and improve customer satisfaction
- Coordinate the needs of in-house and remote employees, vendors, and contractors
- Protect customer data from outside infiltration through encryption, secure data storage, and other necessary means
- Assist with the installation of new hardware and software and help train employees on its use
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
- Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
- Draft and / or administer disaster plans
