Physical Security Sales Engineer
Fishers is seeking a qualified individual to fill our Physical Security Sales Engineer position on our Fishers Integration Systems Team. The Physical Security Sales Engineer supports the sales team by providing technical expertise, designing customized security solutions, and ensuring customer requirements are met. This role requires an understanding of physical security systems, such as video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and perimeter security technologies, combined with excellent communication and customer interaction skills.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Technical Consultation:
- Partner with sales teams to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate physical security solutions.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to evaluate security risks and requirements.
- Provide expert guidance on system designs and configurations.
- Solution Design:
- Develop customized security solutions, including detailed schematics, layouts, and bill of materials (BOM).
- Design systems incorporating video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and other security technologies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer specifications.
- Pre-Sales Support:
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and proposals.
- Respond to RFPs (Request for Proposals) and RFQs (Request for Quotations) with detailed technical documentation.
- Act as a subject matter expert during client discussions and negotiations.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the engineering, project management, and installation teams to ensure seamless implementation.
- Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to stay updated on the latest security technologies and products.
- Training and Support:
- Train sales teams and clients on the functionality and benefits of physical security systems.
- Provide ongoing technical support during and after system deployment.
- Respond to customer support calls as requested.
- Market Awareness:
- Keep abreast of emerging trends and advancements in the physical security industry.
- Identify opportunities to enhance or expand the companys product and service offerings.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in engineering, electronics, computer science, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience acceptable.
- Experience:
- 3 years of experience in physical security system design or sales engineering.
- Familiarity with security solutions such as CCTV, access control, biometrics, intrusion systems, and perimeter security.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD or other design software.
- Strong understanding of networking, IP technologies, and integration of security systems.
- Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ONVIF)
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with specific brands or systems (e.g., Avigilon, Verkada, Honeywell, Axis, Lenel, or Genetec).
Work Environment:
- Combination of office-based work and field visits to customer sites.
- May require travel to client locations, trade shows, and industry events.
