Job Description
We’re looking for a Senior Manager of eCommerce to lead technical project execution across our web platforms. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in the details, excels at turning complex requirements into streamlined execution, and gets excited about architecting technical solutions that improve site performance and customer experience.
This person will own the end-to-end lifecycle of major web projects—from planning and scoping through dev collaboration, QA, and implementation. You’ll bring technical fluency, project management expertise, and a systems mindset to the role, working across teams to ensure projects land on time, on spec, and fully documented.
This is not a marketing or content role. We’re looking for someone who came up through QA, technical product management, or technical project management and who enjoys being in the weeds on implementation.
Responsibilities
Project Scoping & Planning
- Collaborate with the Director of E-Commerce to define project requirements, timelines, and technical feasibility.
- Create and manage detailed project plans, including milestones, resourcing, and dependencies.
- Scope integrations, feature builds, or systemic improvements that align with platform architecture and business goals.
Technical Consultation & Execution
- Act as the subject-matter expert on Shopify Plus (headless experience preferred), Prismic, and adjacent tools.
- Provide technical leadership for implementing new apps, integrations, or infrastructure changes.
- Work closely with external developers to ensure code quality, scalability, and alignment with our systems.
Project Management & Coordination
- Own day-to-day project tracking: prioritize tasks, escalate roadblocks, and keep cross-functional teams aligned.
- Manage QA processes and lead testing cycles for new features, updates, and bug resolutions.
- Serve as the central point of contact for cross-functional communication (eComm, Marketing, Dev, Design).
- Manage dev queue and agency
Documentation & Handoff
- Ensure all completed projects are documented and maintainable.
- Facilitate handoffs to internal teams for ongoing maintenance and support.
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions as needed.
Requirements
- 5 years of technical project or product management experience, ideally in e-commerce.
- Expertise with Shopify Plus, bonus if headless, Recharge or other subscription platform experience; Prismic CMS or other CMS experience preferred.
- Strong technical acumen-comfortable discussing architecture, APIs, and dev workflows.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills. You thrive on structure and clarity.
- A background in QA, dev project management, or technical implementation is ideal.
- Experience in a subscription-based business or fast-paced startup environment is a big plus.
