Position Summary:
The Human Resources Manager will head the human resources, benefits and payroll departments of the Company. The Manager plans, directs and implements policies for all areas of human resources functions, including staffing, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations and safety and compliance, and ensures the Company’s compliance with current, applicable labor laws. The position reports to the Chief Legal Officer.
Responsibilities Include:
· Responsible for proposing, developing, implementing and coordinating company programs, policies and procedures and required employee training.
- Responsible for compliance with all existing labor law and government reporting requirements including but not limited to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the American With Disabilities Act, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), California Family Rights Act (CFRA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
- Communicates to management and employees changes to policies and procedures to ensure that proper compliance is followed.
- Continually assesses the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.
- Develops, implements, and manages the performance evaluation program to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within the company.
· Develops an annual Human Resources budget process and deliverables and track and report on Human Resources spending throughout the year.
- Acts as an advisor to managers and supervisors on issues related to employee discipline.
- Responsible to investigate and address employee complaints/concerns in a manner insuring fairness and consistency.
- Consults with outside legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the Chief Legal Officer on personnel matters.
- Acts as key recruitment contact. Review resumes/applications, coordinates interview process. Manage pre-employment background checks and drug screenings coordinates job offer process. Maintains and updates job descriptions.
- Develops and manages employee on-boarding and new hire orientation programs.
- Updates and maintains personnel files with current employee demographics, compensation, benefits, performance and required training programs. Requires timely manual data entry.
- Partners with third party vendors to design, develop and maintain the Human Resource Information Systems.
- Preparation and filing of the annual EEO-1 report with Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
· Responsible for Sox compliance by establishing and maintaining internal controls as it relates to human resources and payroll processes.
- Provides direct leadership and oversight to the Human Resources, Payroll & Benefits Administration teams.
- Provides strategic support of the payroll manger and all aspects of payroll processing.
- Responsible for reporting/processing Workers Compensation injury’s and ensuring that injured employees receive prompt medical attention. Prepare, post, file and maintain annual OSHA 300 report.
- Coordinates and reviews annual Workers Compensation Insurance audit with outside agency.
- Evaluates, develops and administers the Company’s employee benefit programs and annual open enrollment, including: health and welfare plans, retirement plans, leave policies and wellness programs.
- Prepares and submits benefit required reports to governmental agencies by established deadlines.
- Serves as the plan administrator for the 401(k) and Defined Benefit plans with the responsibility for all necessary compliance audits, and the timely and accurate filings of Form 5500. Serves as a member of the Five Point Benefit Committee.
- Assists management in the annual, preparation and administration of the company's salary, bonus and restricted stock unit programs.
- Collaborative oversite of the Company’s Injury, Illness Prevention Plan and Code of Safe Practices along-side with the Company’s Head of Safety and Head of Risk Management. Together with the Head of Safety and Head of Risk Management, responsible for communication, training and implementation of safety program for Five Point. Participate as a Corporate Safety Officer.
- Manages relationships with brokers and third-party service providers.
- Maintains company organization charts and collaborative oversight of company portal.
- Oversight of Corporate office facilities and food service program.
- Position requires traveling to Five Point offsite locations including Valencia and San Francisco.
Requirements:
· BS/BA in business, Human Resources, Social Sciences or related field. PHR or SPHR highly desirable.
· Minimum of 10 years of Human Resource experience as a human resource manager.
- Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and development.
· Must be highly proficient with spreadsheets, databases and Human Resources Information Systems management tools. Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required. Experience in UKG preferable.
- Effective prioritization, time management, organizational skills, and ability to meet established deadlines.
- Experience with recruiting all levels of employment.
- Experience with establishing, negotiating and implementing employee benefits programs.
- Knowledge in handling and managing workers compensation & safety program.
- Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
Compensation: Base salary, bonus and benefits will be competitive in the market.
FLSA Status: Exempt
