Description
Title : Business Development Manager – Novus
Reports To : Regional Manager
The primary focus of the Business Development Manager is at all times to be responsible for marketing, promoting and successfully selling products and services to existing and potential customers. The Business Development Manager is responsible to prospect and generate new business. This position requires cold calling on accounts to generate new sales.
The Business Development Manager shall assist customers by providing product and service information; resolving product and service problems. They shall attract potential customers by answering product and service questions; suggesting information about products and services. They shall confer with customers by telephone, email or in person to provide information about products and services, to take orders, or to obtain details of complaints. Keeping records of interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken.
He / She shall resolve product or service problems by clarifying the customer's complaint, determining the cause of the problem, selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem, expediting correction or adjustment, and following up to ensure resolution.
Under the direction of the Regional Manager the Business Development Manager shall promote and contribute to the team effort by accomplishing results as needed and will possess the skills and qualifications to perform all jobs as required.

Job Duties
Makes personal sales calls at customer sites on a regular basis.Seeks out prospective customers / business opportunities with new and existing customers.Establishes and maintains customer relationships in order to grow profitable sales.Stays current on existing and emerging product and technologies.Introduces and demonstrates new products to assigned accounts.Follows-up on generated quotes to assure the customer is being assisted.Reports competitive conditions and feedback from customers to management.Maintain ethical, cooperative manufacturer relationships consistent with company image and company / branch goals in the marketplace.Cooperate with qualified suppliers to secure mutual business through joint calls.Keep confidential any information pertaining to customers and competitors.Execute sales efforts in an ethical and professional manner, assuring a favorable impression of self and the company.Maintain a professional / working image in self and work environment including vehicle.Complete sales call and expense reports on a timely basis in accordance with company policy.Resolve customer complaints in a timely and efficient manner. Reporting customer comments to management.Implement a sales plan to support sales and profitability goals.Be efficient in all duties required by all team members in order to provide support and / or backup for team members during installation of products and / or services for customers, including unscheduled deliveries.Develop an effective and productive working relationship with Branch Managers, Branch Supervisors, Customer Service Representatives and support personnel; encourages and assists in their training and development when possible.Support shops as needed.Other related duties as assigned.Requirements
High School or equivalent (GED)3-5 years previous sales / customer service experienceExcellent driving record as well as a valid driver's licenseProfessional phone voice, demeanor and listening skillsExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Superior customer relation skillsOrganizational skillsAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced work environmentAbility to use and learn computer based inventory control systemsKnowledge of market areaQualifications
