Job Description : Seeking an efficient, proactive, and detail-oriented part-time HR Generalist to work remotely 25 hours a week. This role is pivotal in facilitating daily HR functions. The ideal candidate has a successful track record of performing in this or a similar role. For consideration, the candidate will have a broad knowledge of Human Resources principles, proficient HR administration, and the ability to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure end-to-end scope of HR operations and assigned projects. This key role will serve as the HR manager's right hand, allowing the manager to focus on culture and strategic initiatives. The suitable candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, managerial capabilities, and relevant human resources experience, preferably in a small organization. The HR Generalist must have strong HRIS experience and be able to multitask.
Responsibilities :
- Act as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries by managing the HR email inbox and ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Support HR projects and initiatives, such as updating standard operating procedures, documenting policy updates, and supporting diversity programs.
- Must have recent working multi-state (DC, MD, VA, WV) knowledge of regulatory compliance and company policies.
- Collaborate with the HR Manager to optimize HR processes and practices.
- Track and document the HR department’s to-do-list, projects, and strategic initiatives.
- Post positions, review and select resumes during hiring processes, and update databases. Schedule interviews, prepare job offers, etc.
- Coordinate and conduct orientations.
- Update job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
- Able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to HR, including digital file maintenance, HRIS entry, and updates to the employee intranet.
- Manage and maintain employee background checks, Safesport training, CPR, First Aid, and AED Training requirements.
- Coordinate employee benefits programs and assist employees with benefit inquiries and open enrollment.
- Reconcile monthly benefits statements and accurately process invoices through the accounts payable system.
- Administer training and development programs, scheduling sessions and tracking participation.
- Prepare bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual HR reports
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field. Associate’s degree or High School Diploma may be substituted with equivalent years of experience.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
- 5 years of related experience in an HR Generalist or HR Specialist role.
- 5 years of administrator experience with HRIS systems
- Experience with Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Slides, Drive) preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Must reside in the Mid-Atlantic region (MD, DC, VA, WV).
- Physical Requirements : Ability to make repetitive motions, sit, stand, walk, and handle objects; lift up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
