Controls Engineer
The Controls Engineer plays a key role in designing and implementing automation systems , ensuring efficiency, safety, and reliability. This position involves a wide range of responsibilities, including electrical hardware design, PLC programming, HMI development, and system integration .
Key Responsibilities :
- Participate in system risk assessments and ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards
- Select and size hardware components for automation systems
- Develop electrical schematics using EPLAN P8 or AutoCAD Electrical
- Create bills of materials (BOM) and panel layout designs
- Conduct heat calculations and pneumatic system sizing
- Design automation network layouts and define system hardware architecture
- Program PLCs using Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Allen-Bradley, or Mitsubishi
- Develop human-machine interfaces (HMI) for seamless user interaction
- Integrate auxiliary equipment , such as laser markers, parts washers, and comparators
- Interface with machine tools for machine tending applications
- Travel onsite for customer startup and commissioning (estimated 25% travel )
