Corporate Giving Officer
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Vice-President of External Relations, the Corporate Giving Officer is responsible for supporting the annual development plan by identifying, securing, and cultivating corporate donors to support the mission and vision of FIM. Primary responsibility is to increase corporate sponsors for the Capitol Club program and FIM fundraising events.
Specific Responsibilities and Qualifications
· Research and identify potential corporate donors, build relationships with key contacts, and develop strategies to cultivate, solicit and steward support.
· Attract new corporate donors and retain support from existing donors in coordination with development team efforts and annual fundraising goals,
· Create and implement fundraising proposals to attract corporate support.
· Oversee existing corporate giving programs, track donations, and ensure that the organization meets its fundraising goals.
· Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of FIM programming and funding priorities.
· Represent the organization to corporate donors and stakeholders, effectively communicating the organization's mission and impact.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of donor interactions, solicitations and prospect lists working with Manager of Development Operations to ensure alignment with development team plans and priorities.
· Work with Manager of Development Operations and other development team members to ensure a cohesive approach to fundraising, donor relations, donor recognition and sponsorship fulfillment.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of External Relations.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree required in Philanthropy, Public Administration, Communication, Journalism or similar field.
· At least 3-4 years of experience fundraising with a proven track record; or, equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to succeed.
· Ability to work collaboratively and effectively on a team while organizing, prioritizing and executing work independently.
· Ability to provide exceptional customer service, internally and externally, with a high level of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.
· Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
· Outstanding writing and editing skills, with the ability to draft compelling proposals and donor communications quickly and accurately.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Compensation and Benefits:
· Hourly Pay Range: $25.00 - $40.00/hour
· Part Time Position – up to 29 hours per week
· Flexible Schedule
· 401k Eligible
· Non-Exempt
