Florida A&M University is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Coordinator, Research Program/Services position. This is a 100% Extension and 12-month appointment located in Tallahassee, Florida and is responsible to the Director, Cooperative Extension.
Responsibilities
Provides administrative direction and management of Extension activities including the day-to-day supervision of support and administrative staff on campus and satellite locations of the Extension program; Supervises, trains and provides work direction for Extension OPS staff and students;
Coordinate/manage budget activities pertaining to Cooperative Extension and related projects, including procurement, planning, reviewing, analyzing, recommendations and reporting; Direct and manage personnel and procurement functions, including requests to advertise, faculty/staff recommendations, and OPS employment actions; Maintain file and/or copies of personnel action requests; Managing the procurement process from requisition to payment and coordination with purchasing, accounts payable and vendors as needed; Initiate and process all paperwork related to travel and travel reimbursements; Maintain file/copy of all approved travel and reimbursement requests; Serve as liaison to CAFS Office of Facilities and Administration on personnel and budget issues.
Provide administrative support for Director of Extension Programs, including Pcard reconciliation, making travel arrangements, as well as other special and supportive assignments assigned by the Director; Provide administrative direction for special events, programs and activities; Advise and assist in interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures related to federal capacity and other sponsored programs; Assist with planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting of externally funded programs as that are consistent with Extension's mission and goals as directed by the Director; Provide direct administrative support to selected extension program teams, including data collection and reporting and grants management; and other assignments deemed necessary and appropriate for the administration of Extension Program. This position may require some evening and weekend work inherent to Extension program delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of experience; or master's degree in appropriate area of specialization.
Recommended Competencies
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing;
Ability to interpret and recommend policy;
Ability to prepare, analyze and administer budgets;
Experience in grants management;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
Advanced knowledge of federal program funding, policies and regulations; and
Ability to understand, apply knowledge, analyze and solve problems.
Preferred Qualifications
All applicants must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following areas:
Business, Accounting, Education, or a relevant discipline and two years of experience. A Master's degree is preferred.

This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.
Conditions of Employment
