Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Operations Consultant to join our team. The Government Operations Consultant III will represent the Department and the Office of Broadband at meetings, councils, conferences, and other events as needed.
Duties
- Represent the Department and the Office of Broadband at meetings, councils, conferences, and other events as needed.
- Monitor federal and state regulations, as well as changes or revisions to policies.
- Assists with drafting and surveying for the Strategic Plan for Broadband.
- Prepare summaries and analyses of proposed federal and state legislation and draft amendment language.
- Monitor, analyze, and plan the impact to Florida of Federal and State rules and regulations relating to broadband capabilities, electronic health initiatives, digital literacy and e-government participation by citizens.
- Hosts webinars and meeting, both virtual and in-person, relating to initiatives for the Office of Broadband statutory initiatives.
- Collaborate with Communications Liaison on external content.
- Analyze emerging technologies on national and industry initiatives and trends in broadband; prepare recommendations and position papers; conduct research and analysis to identify best practices toward broadband adoption and improvements.
- Research and analyze new and existing technologies to ensure that all areas of the State have access to optimum service.
- Through dedicated website and social media channels explore all opportunities to engage service providers and existing and potential subscribers on the benefits of broadband.
- Responds to communities regarding funding opportunities that promote and expand broadband in Florida.
- Review legislation in other states and broadband offices.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of broadband infrastructure and deployment in Florida.
- Knowledge of state procurement and contracts.
- Knowledge of grant programs and funding opportunities.
- Ability to coordinate with federal, state, and local entities.
- Knowledge of the Legislative process, inner workings of state government, and ability to represent the department and board in public meetings.
- Knowledge of the state’s key economic drivers.
- Oral and written communication skills; ability to produce professional level written work products.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $49,584.67 - $52,859.85 per year
