What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Administrative Assistant position at FLORIDA HOMECARE SPECIALISTS?
1. Assists is answering incoming phone calls
2. Requests Medicare or private insurance patient care approval
3. Performs research, seeks information necessary prior to patient admission
4. Coordinates patient admission with marketing, scheduling, clinical staff
5. Enters patient information in the company electronic reporting system.
6. Verifies accuracy of patient information in the system
7. Assists in scheduling patient visits for nursing, home health, therapy
8. Verifies new patient acceptance by Medicare or private insurance
9. Performs patient satisfaction survey
10. Answers questions from patients, staff and insurance companies.
11. Performs daily backups in office computer system
12. Participates in educational activities and attends staff meetings as required.
13. Conducts self in accordance with FHS employee manual.
14. Ensures strict confidentiality of financial and medical records in compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, (HIPAA).
15. Cross-train with other functions within the organization
16. Works one (1) weekend every month
17. Performs other duties as assigned.
