- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year experience as a Medical Front Desk
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Personable and empathetic with patient’s needs and concerns.
- Well-organized and attentive to detail.
- Able to work as a team member.
- Demonstrated computer literacy
- Welcoming patients, families and visitors in a friendly, courteous and caring manner.
- Performs administrative and general office functions including, but not limited to, copying, filing, faxing and data entry.
- Answer telephone calls, provides information, screens and routes telephone calls to the appropriate person or department.
- Schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, diagnostic tests, and other health related appointments.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Obtain patient authorizations as needed.
- Responsible for the Patient Check In process to include:
- Obtaining, or verifying and updating patient demographic information
- Insurance information in the PM system
- Obtain patient consent for treatment
- Responsible for Patient Check Out process to include:
- Collect patient payments ,including, copayments, deductibles, coinsurance and any outstanding patient due balance amounts.
- Provide patient receipts
- End of the day reconciliation process, may be responsible for balancing and reporting daily receipts
- Documents in PM System.
- May be responsible for chart prep of scheduled appointments.
- Utilizes interpersonal skills to optimize medical practice satisfaction rate by effectively and carefully communicating with patients and providers.
- Understand and follow applicable Federal and Florida State laws and regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles related to patient HIPPA Privacy and Security.
- Serve as brand representative for FPA by embracing the Company culture and mission statement, core values and standards of conduct.
