Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership:
- Partner with leadership to develop and execute human resource strategies related to talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Enforce HR policies and procedures that align with company culture and business goals.
- Manages employee relations matters, including, but not limited to, investigation of complaints, preparing recommendations, advising management on performance management, dispute resolution, compensation, etc.
- Prepares progress reports, develops summaries, and reports status of Employee Relations, case activity, turnaround time, and departmental patterns, trends, and analysis.
- Promote a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns in a timely manner.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and develop programs to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
- Investigate unemployment compensation claims.
- Develop internal communication strategies to keep employees informed on policies, updates, and initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison between leadership and staff, fostering open communication and promoting transparency.
- Oversee the performance evaluation process and provide guidance on goal-setting and employee development.
- Coach managers on effective performance management strategies and assist in creating performance improvement plans (PIPs).
- Identify training needs and oversee the development of training programs for employees at all levels.
- Ensure accurate HR record-keeping and compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Maintain and update HR policies, employee handbooks, and workplace safety procedures.
- Oversee attendance tracking, and wage administration to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Manage leave programs in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain compliance with labor laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA) and ensure up-to-date employee records and policies.
- Administer and oversee compensation and fringe benefits programs in compliance with policy, FLSA and related State and Federal laws and regulations.
- Audits, reviews and verifies employee benefit elections and changes
- Works closely with insurance providers and insurance brokers; provides required enrollment information as necessary, such as statistical and census data
- Determines the appropriate communication strategy for educating employees on the benefits programs (e.g., Open Enrollment, 401(k) plan, supplemental plans, etc.)
- Assists with the development and implementation of health and wellness initiatives
- Ensures all leave documents are up-to-date and compliant with current and future legal, regulatory and compliance codes
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of the Benefits Specialist, ensuring efficient and accurate processing claims and leaves.
- Oversee the timely reporting of work-related injuries and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and submitted to the insurance carrier.
- Partner with managers and employees to facilitate return-to-work programs, ensuring that injured employees receive the support they need during recovery and rehabilitation.
- Work with safety teams to ensure a safe working environment and implement safety training initiatives.
- Lead training sessions as needed on workers' compensation processes, including reporting injuries and navigating return-to-work protocols, to ensure all staff and management are informed and compliant.
- Utilize HRIS (Human Resources Information System) to manage employee data and streamline HR processes.
- Track and analyze key workforce metrics such as turnover, retention, and engagement.
- Provide HR reports and insights to leadership to support data-driven decision-making.
- Organize and coordinate employee recognition programs, team-building events, and incentive programs.
- Develop internal communication strategies to keep employees informed on HR policies, updates, and company initiatives.
- Contribute to business meetings with data-driven insights and proactive solutions.
- Model company values and competencies, provide feedback, and support change management projects.
- Stay current with HR best practices and share insights with the Executive team.
- Perform additional tasks as requested by the Executive Director.

- Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications with advanced MS Excel skills, skilled in database software, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), and other HR related applications, as well as use of common office and computer equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of leave of absence, including but not limited to FMLA, ADA/Interactive Process, Workers Compensation, etc.
- Knowledge pertaining to ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, Safe Harbor, 5500 compliance and other regulatory protocols
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, BA/BS in HR Management , Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- 5 years of progressive HR experience, including 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
- 3 years of experience in Labor Relations and Employee Relations
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is highly preferred.
