Flow Dry is looking for an energetic, knowledgeable, 1st Shift Plastics Team Lead.
This individual will be responsible for supervising 5-6 operators and serving as the first trouble shooter for machine problems that arise during the shift. Strong injection molding experience and technical knowledge are critical.
Responsibilities
Ensures the safety of yourself and colleagues in all aspects of work including the safety features of each workstation.
Sets up and operates injection-molding machines to cast products from thermoplastic materials
Installs dies on machine, according to work order specifications, using clamps, bolts, and hand tools
Sets machine controls, regulating molding temperature, volume of plastic, molding pressure and time, according to knowledge of plastics and molding procedures
Loads material into machine, removes parts from mold using hand tools as necessary
Trim excess flash/material using hand tools or press as necessary
May mix thermoplastic materials and coloring pigments in mixing machine, according to formula; may grind scrap plastic into powder for reuse
Document processes and procedures to maintain records
Set up auxiliary equipment
Troubleshoot and problem solve injection molding, auxiliary, and secondary operations
Inventory, identify, select, and prepare resins for molding
Perform equipment maintenance and repairs; maintain and organize tools and equipment
Inspect parts for qualification
Select molding setup parameters for new tooling
Work productively and cooperatively with others while maintain clear communications
Knowledge to perform quality test on each product type; knowledge to remove/install injection molding tools and perform daily PM’s on tools
Other duties assigned
Qualifications
5 years injection molding experience
High school diploma, additional formal training preferred
Prior leadership experience
Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated team-player
PC proficient using an ERP, Microsoft Suite, and other software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Effective problem analysis and problem resolution skills
