We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of our analytical and microbiology testing laboratories. These laboratories operate in three separate geographies (Allentown, Philadelphia and Florida).
This position requires a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with expertise in financial software. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, managing cash flow, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
The role will also have a key focus on the long-term financial planning and initiatives of the Group (Future M&A integrations, budgeting, assisting with system implementations etc)
Key Accountabilities :
Assisting the Group Financial Controller with month end tasks e.g. payroll journals, prepayments and accruals, depreciation
BankingKeep an accurate and daily reconciled ledger of bank accounts allocated to you from the Financial Controller
Weekly supplier payments and payrollAccounts PayableMaintain payables ledger and ageing, verify that outgoing payments are correctly authorised and paid with accuracy & attention to detail
Processing supplier invoices daily, whilst also utilising / implementing automation tools (Continia)Ensure all inbox queries are answered promptlyAccounts ReceivableEnsure invoices are issued at appropriate time, accounting for unique procedures for certain clients for allocated business units and ensure credit notes are issued correctly
Provide a monthly reconciliation between external systems and the finance system to ensure accurate revenue recognitionManage debtor's ledger and ageing profile, ensuring payments are made within payment termsLiaise with clients on payment queries as and when requiredEnsure all inbox queries are answered promptlyPayrollWorking with the outsourced supplier, assist with the processing of payroll and 401k
Commercial Tasks (ad hoc)Assistance and support provided to the FP&A manager with the preparation of Group business plans, forecasts and function budgets
Assist with any system implementationsAssist the FC with special projects e.g. creating fixed asset registers etcAssist with external auditsTo keep the Financial Controller, informed concerning the status of their work, including situations which may lead to potential delaysHelp out on ad hoc tasks across the wider finance team when practicalRequired skills and experience :
