Lead Adult Services Social Worker

Responsibilities: Supervise Adult Services, Homelessness programs, and Adult Protection staff.
Be knowledgeable of area resources and procedures for referring to other providers.
Accept and process referrals from other providers.
Assign cases to appropriate workers for case management.
Assist Case Managers with interviewing clients and performing assessments to accurately identify and address needs.
Assist Case Mangers with monitoring client progress toward established service goals and determine termination/continuation of service.
Provide crisis intervention and services that include referrals to meet emergency needs for housing, food, clothing or financial assistance.
Consult and coordinate with appropriate departmental and division staff and community service professionals to develop and provide appropriate and timely services.
Attend and participate in department and other meetings as directed.
Complete client case reviews to determine the likelihood and degree to which persons may be a danger to themselves or others.
Complete all housing reports and other reports as assigned by Coordinator in a timely manner.
Monitor and audit all client files.
Assist Coordinator in creating and implementing policies and procedures for adult service programs.
Assist Coordinator with all related grant responsibilities including budgets, goals and objectives, reporting, and renewing as assigned.
Assist Coordinator with employment decisions related to hiring, evaluating, and when appropriate, disciplinary actions.
Attend all grant related meetings as assigned
Appropriate/Professional work attire is required.
Must attend all mandatory department trainings.
Ensures confidentiality of financial records and all records for employees and/or clients.
Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.
Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.
Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.
Maintains a clean and organized work area.

• Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.

Qualifications: Valid U.S. Class D Driver’s License with Fond du Lac Insurability is required
Bachelor’s degree in social work or related social science field is required.
Two or more years of adult protection experience is required.
Two or more years of supervisory experience is required.
Two or more years of experience with housing programs and reporting are required.
Documentation of professional interviewing experience.
Demonstrated and documented knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural and potential special needs of adult clients.
Knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, Access, Excel and Microsoft Outlook is required.
Knowledge of Native American communities, culture, customs, and beliefs is preferred.
Experience working with Native Americans clients, communities and is able to demonstrate cultural sensitivity is preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.
Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.
Subject to immunization review and submitted proof of required vaccinations.
Travel is required.
