Responsibilities
The Assistant Controller reports to the Resort Controller and is responsible for the day to day planning, organizing, and leadership of the accounting and finance department. Assists the Resort Controller in cost controls of the various departments throughout the resort, works to improve processes and efficiencies throughout the resort, leads specific teams within the finance department, ensures all accounts are reconciled monthly, and is an important part of the period end close process each month. Examples of Duties, includes but is not limited to the following:Qualifications
Knowledge of accounting concepts, practices, and objectives.
Current knowledge with regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
Keep abreast of financial and accounting principles to include reporting and GAAP disclosure (CPA or MBA a plus but not required).
Ability to read, write, and understand English.
Excellent planning and communication skills.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and independent decision making skills.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Takes initiative and has high expectations of self and team.
Ability to utilize spreadsheet and presentation software.
Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, and other instructions.
