Position Summary
The Forcura IT Project Manager is responsible for managing the delivery of the company’s products and technology projects. The IT Project Manager will work primarily with the Product, Engineering and Client Experience teams to provide project planning and management for prioritized product and technical company initiatives. This team member will ensure that projects are completed to specification, within an established time frame and budget while utilizing agile methodologies. The IT Project Manager will be a self-starter who can manage and prioritize multiple work streams, and possesses excellent communication skills, critical thinking skills, business acumen and analytical problem solving skills.
Job Duties
- Assign and oversee the daily tasks of technical personnel while ensuring all technical resources are actively working toward established milestones.
- Hold regular project huddles with technical teams to determine progress and identify and remove team level impediments and clear the path for effective delivery of value to customers; escalate when appropriate
- Lead regular product refinement, sprint planning and sprint retrospective sessions
- Define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for staff members required for specific projects or initiatives
- Manage projects with enterprise complexity and scope, often with critical stakeholder interaction
- Develop project plans to ensure scope, business value, stakeholders, cost, estimated timelines, risks and constraints are understood by delivery team and align with company delivery goals
- Ability to own release management for Production releases
- Ensure that progress updates and milestones are documented and presented transparently and in a timely manner to appropriate organization leaders
- Identify process improvement opportunities resulting in a more effective delivery process
- Develop and implement new business change processes, systems, products and services
- Develop and/or contribute to product use cases, to help define features and functionality
- Document new products and features
- Production Issue Management with the ability to triage, investigate and delegate through resolution
- Serve as a liaison between IT and internal business stakeholders with the ability to articulate messaging for both technical and non-technical users
- All other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information systems or related discipline or equivalent work experience
- 2 years professional business and technical experience as a project manager, in an agile environment strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success in delivering products on time and on budget in a cross-functional team environment is critical for this position
- Well organized and able to handle multiple assignments and responsibilities with a strong sense of ownership
- Demonstrated understanding of SDLC, Project Management processes, strategies, methods and tools
- Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas
- Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making, self-managing, and supervising department teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working closely with Architecture, Database, Infrastructure teams and projects strongly preferred
- Experience working with engineering departments utilizing cloud-based services strongly preferred
- Experience with release / delivery management strongly preferred
- Experience in requirements gathering, product development, and testing preferred
- Professional Project Management Certification, Agile Engineering, and/or Lean Process Management certification from an accredited institution preferred
Work Environment
- This role reports into Forcura’s Jacksonville, FL, offices.
