Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive HR/Payroll Generalist who owns processing the full cycle payroll operations for more than 800 workers across multiple states as well as supporting employee questions and other HR operations activities. The HR/Payroll Generalist is expected to exhibit a high level of proficiency in executing their duties, professionalism, demonstrating a deep understanding of the principles and practices that underlie the payroll and human resources domains. This position is non-exempt full-time reporting to the VP of Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll:
- Manage workflow for accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Audit payrolls for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and payroll best practices.
- Handle tax treatment, accounting, and withholdings.
- Process garnishments, out of cycle pay runs, and payroll accounting.
- Oversee HRIS system changes and implementations.
- Maintain employee payroll records and provide system training.
- Prepare and analyze HR reports
- Conduct new hire orientations and onboarding activities.
- Support recruiting functions and maintain compliance with employment laws.
- Subject matter expert with HRIS and its modules
- Assist in developing and implementing employment policies.
- Process benefit forms and answer related questions.
- Organize office safety meetings and manage corporate training scheduling.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of payroll experience in a medium-sized company.High focus on customer service and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to handle confidential material, manage multiple projects and have a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Experience in HR operations functions
- Proven experience with Microsoft Office applications especially excel and PowerPoint
