Job Summary
This position performs manual labor in maintenance and construction tasks supporting the District golf courses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate motorized landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, rototillers, chainsaws, aerators, sod cutters, and tractors.
- Complete manual labor tasks using hand tools including shovels and rakes.
- Transplant and maintain ornamental shrubbery, remove weeds, prune plants and trees.
- Lift and move equipment and amenities including benches and water coolers.
- Operate District motor vehicles including trucks and snowplows.
- Remove trash in golf course buildings. Clean, sanitize, and deodorize restrooms and replenish supplies.
- Perform routine and other maintenance on equipment.
- Foster a working environment that promotes safe work habits; Become familiar with and observe all applicable safety rules, policies, and work procedures; Follow all safety rules that pertain to the duties performed and support all aspects of the District's safety and risk management program; Keep work area clean, orderly, and free of hazards; Immediately report all unsafe conditions and incidents.
- Maintain a supportive working environment and demonstrate a desire to exceed the expectations of internal and external customers.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older at time of hire.
- Valid Driver's License in good standing.
- Prior experience in golf landscaping preferred.
- Basic knowledge of the game of golf preferred.
- Familiarity with basic and advanced landscaping equipment.
- Basic knowledge of grounds maintenance practices.
Schedule: Variable schedule, up to 40 hours per week during the main golf season (April - October).
Pay: $15 - 18 /hour.

Work Environment: Indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions in a golf facility setting.
Location: The Maple Meadows Golf Course in Wood Dale, Green Meadows Course in Westmont, or The Preserve at Oak Meadows Course in Addison.
