What we are looking for:
The Facilities Capital Management Program, within the Oregon Department of Forestry, manages and oversees the Department’s 381 buildings/structures, valued at over $316M, at administrative sites located throughout the state. The program is responsible for managing, monitoring, and developing the department’s facility assets to meet long-term strategic capital needs, lifecycle replacement and sustainability performance requirements, and supports the Department through the improved functionality and extended life of its facilities assets to meet current and future business needs. This includes Property Control to assure that state-owned property/contents are properly, accurately, and systematically classified and accounted for. The program also directly manages the Salem Headquarters Campus operations and maintenance activities, which is comprised of nine commercial buildings, structures, and adjacent grounds.
Duties Include:
- Function as a member of the Department of Forestry’s Facilities Capital Management Program’s Property Unit.
- Maintain central accountability of state and federal equipment owned or loaned to the agency.
- Warehouse, distribute, dispose of, and manage the department’s inventory.
- Conducts or coordinates statewide annual inventories.
- Manage the disposition of Federal Excess Personal Property (FEPP) and Fire Fighter Property (FFP) equipment in support of fire protection activities for internal ODF Districts, Rural Fire Departments, Fire Departments, Volunteer Fire Departments, Fire Protection Associations and Range Land Associations.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of stocking, storeroom or warehouse experience which included purchasing a variety of supplies, equipment or materials, maintaining inventory records, and shipping and receiving materials and equipment.
Note: Driver’s License Check - This position requires the operation of a state vehicle for the purpose of conducting official State business. If your license is from outside Oregon, you must submit at least a three-year court/DMV printout. If you have an Oregon driver’s license, a record check will be conducted on the top candidate to ensure a valid license and acceptable driving record.
Desired Skills:
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Products with emphasis on proficiency in the MS Excel spreadsheet program. Will use PowerPoint for slides, presentations, and manuals. Outlook email and calendar use will be required.
- Effective public speaking, ability to make presentations and facilitate meetings.
- Knowledge of GSA Advantage and DOD Fedmall.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with state and federal agencies and other cooperators.
- Ability to assess motorized equipment for mechanical soundness and risk issues.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent multitasking skills
