Learning and Development Specialist- Construction

Forks Lath & Plaster (FLP) is currently seeking a motivated and passionate individual to instruct our in-house apprenticeship program, as well as assist with our employee onboarding and training sessions.

This position can be either full-time or part-time, and will be on-site, based in the Grand Forks, ND area.

The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for providing instruction and guidance to student apprentices enrolled in our in-house program. This role involves delivering lectures, facilitating hands-on training, and assessing apprentices' progress to ensure they acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for a successful career in the construction industry. The Learning and Development Specialist will also assist with our employee onboarding and training sessions.

Ideal candidate has previous experience in the construction field.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Driver’s license and reliable means of transportation
• Clear background screen
• Previous experience in Construction industry (preferred)
• Previous experience in Education industry (preferred)

The primary role of the Learning and Development Specialist includes the following essential functions:

• Conducts in-house apprenticeship program
• Delivers engaging lectures and demonstrations to teach apprentices various construction techniques, safety protocols, and industry best practices
• Organize and supervise hands-on training sessions in workshop settings, guiding apprentices through real-world construction projects
• Provide individualized feedback and coaching to apprentices to help them improve their skills and overcome challenges
• Collaborate with Administration team to maintain accurate records of apprentices' attendance, performance, and progress throughout the program
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes teamwork, respect, and professional development
• Assists leadership team with employee onboarding and training sessions
• Modifies or revises programs as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned
