Forks Lath & Plaster (FLP) is currently seeking a motivated and passionate individual to instruct our in-house apprenticeship program, as well as assist with our employee onboarding and training sessions.
This position can be either full-time or part-time, and will be on-site, based in the Grand Forks, ND area.
The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for providing instruction and guidance to student apprentices enrolled in our in-house program. This role involves delivering lectures, facilitating hands-on training, and assessing apprentices' progress to ensure they acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for a successful career in the construction industry. The Learning and Development Specialist will also assist with our employee onboarding and training sessions.
Ideal candidate has previous experience in the construction field.
Applicants must have/possess:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Driver’s license and reliable means of transportation
- Clear background screen
- Previous experience in Construction industry (preferred)
- Previous experience in Education industry (preferred)

The primary role of the Learning and Development Specialist includes the following essential functions:
- Conducts in-house apprenticeship program
- Delivers engaging lectures and demonstrations to teach apprentices various construction techniques, safety protocols, and industry best practices
- Organize and supervise hands-on training sessions in workshop settings, guiding apprentices through real-world construction projects
- Provide individualized feedback and coaching to apprentices to help them improve their skills and overcome challenges
- Collaborate with Administration team to maintain accurate records of apprentices' attendance, performance, and progress throughout the program
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes teamwork, respect, and professional development
- Assists leadership team with employee onboarding and training sessions
- Modifies or revises programs as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
