***To be considered for this position, you must have worked as a Lead Teacher for more than 3 years in a licensed North Carolina Preschool and have excellent knowledge of NC DCDEE rules, Five STAR Program, Sanitation, worked as an Administrator /Assistant Director/or a Director in a licensed child care center for a minimum of one year but still loves being in classrooms and supporting teaching staff.
_ A cheerful outlook, leadership skills, EXPERIENCE in CHILDCARE Day-to-day management, a self-starter who operates with an "every day we can make a difference" along with a warm and friendly disposition is essential to this role._
We are looking for an Junior Admin team member or Associate Director who is looking for a an opportunity to show their knowledge and skills in the areas of; the NCDCDEE rules and Five Star guidelines, Mecklenburg County Sanitation rules, being an awesome team player, great teacher in all age groups, someone who can train and coach other staff to our policies and the State and local rules, assist in odd jobs around the center, maintain files, account for staff time, handle supply and inventory, maintain classroom ratios, be first line of support in call out situations, support and assist in lesson plan creation and review, and provide positive support and timely communication with our Directors at our beautiful 5 Star child care center.
Candidate MUST BE ABLE TO spot things in classrooms that need attention and correct professional in that moment or alert Directors.
Must be able to maintain professionalism and effectively redirect staff from discussing personal life events and dialogue during work hours, and to personally not bring personal conversations into classes or be part of your daily communications with other staff.
Must be an example for staff, so always following the rules and correcting when others are not.
The candidate must be able to effectively close the center at night and provide a written update of complete tasks. You must pay attention to detail and ensure that all classrooms are set up according to State and 5 STAR standards daily.
Candidates must have a great love and patience for working with children under the age of 5, parents and other staff members. Someone who can immediately and calmly react to situations that are typical of this environment and works through quick resolves and long-term improvements while communicating to the rest of the Management team for full transparency.
Must have the personal drive and motivation to have attained a degree in Early Childhood Education, NC Credentials and has taken Admin courses over their many years in the ECE field. We offer the TEACH program for tuition assistance to support gaining a degree or completing one.
Must also be an independently strong spirited professional that does not take shortcuts or avoid difficult situations and completes their work timely and efficiently striving for excellence.
This role must have the ability to see the bigger picture, accept responsibility and receive constructive criticism with an outlook that this is a learning moment.
Additional requirements:
- As an Associate Director, you MUST understand Confidentiality and boundaries, maintains privacy of others, our business and does not overstep.
- You must be a good communicator, who knows when to immediately seek additional support and assistance and who never leaves open areas that can cause risk to our programs.
- You must understand the regulations, rules and guidelines that are requirements of a Five Star Center in North Carolina and be able to maintain accuracy in ALL records and requirements at all times.
