Director of Marketing & Brand Strategy
Forsyth Country Day School is a community of learners, preparing our students for what’s ahead. The role of the Director of Marketing & Brand Strategy is to effectively promote Forsyth Country Day School to prospective families as well as current families, past families, alumni, and the community at large.
The Director of Marketing & Brand Strategy works closely with the Head of School, Associate Head of School for Advancement, Director of Philanthropy & Engagement, Chief of Staff, Director of Admission, and Director of Communications.
This role advances the mission of the school and the overarching areas of Teaching & Learning and Wellness & Belonging. Admission, Philanthropy, Head of School, Summer Camps, Arts, Athletics, College Counseling, Library, Health Services, International Students/Programs, and Alumni are supported with marketing and communication strategies.
Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Vision
- Manage the integrity of the brand for the whole school
- Promote the vision, mission, and core values
Advertising
- Create and manage print advertisements
- Develop, coordinate, and track all online and social media advertising
- Evaluate advertising opportunities and stay up-to-date
Social Media
- Write and provide content for and manage all social media
- Engage in social media comments
- Advertise and track results on social media
Website
- Create and manage all website content
- Ensure content reflects the current goals and messages of the school
- Update photos and videos
- Track and evaluate analytics
Communication
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Communications and the Associate Head of School for Advancement on communication strategy
- Assist the Director of Communications with content creation as needed
- Track email communications and review emergency communications and plans
Articles & Mailings
- Coordinate articles for website, promotion, and press releases
- Help develop and implement annual magazine and bi-annual newsletters
- Create effective mailings for Admission and Philanthropy
Planning & Strategies
- Create and implement marketing and communication plans
- Develop and implement marketing strategies for enrollment, retention, and philanthropy
Marketing Materials & Graphics
- Create and promote school videos
- Create graphics for the website, social media, emails, signs, flyers, presentations, posters, and more
- Create brochures, postcards, items, and more for Admission and Philanthropy
- Provide marketing and branding for apparel, signage, business cards, collateral, postcards, photography, videos, and more
General
- Promote all school events through email, social media, signs, and more
- Partner with teachers and division directors to promote student learning
- Evaluate, seek, and support sponsorships
- Regularly report to board advancement sub-committee
- Manage contracts, invoices, and budgets
- Help execute the Strategic Plan
- Stay up to date on current marketing and independent school trends
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience
- 5-7 years of marketing experience, preferably in the education sector or a similar nonprofit/mission-driven organization.
- Proven track record of developing and executing marketing strategies that drive enrollment and increase brand awareness.
- Experience managing marketing teams, budgets, and external vendors (e.g., graphic designers, web developers).
Skills
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing strategies, including social media, email marketing, content marketing, and website management.
- Proficient with marketing tools like Google Analytics and design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven decisions.

- Ability to collaborate across departments (Admission, Philanthropy, Academics) to align marketing strategies with school goals.
