POSITION SUMMARY |
This position will be supervised by the Department of Student Services and will be responsible for coordinating specific areas of the LCS Restore Program. Our Restorative Programs will include the Restorative Suspension Center, Restorative Academies, and other programs designed to provide students with the social and emotional tools to be successful along their educational journey. This position will assist the Director of Student Services in running the day-to-day operations of these programs and coordinate with principals throughout the division to transition students in and out of the programs. This position will also work with contracted professionals to provide behavior support and intervention specific to behaviors that are displayed by each individual student.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS |
Instructional
- Demonstrates willingness to work with teachers to provide students with meaningful educational opportunities.
- Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate instructional strategies for high school and middle school students.
- Utilizes various forms of technology to assist in the delivery of instruction.
- Utilizes effective motivational strategies.
- Assists teachers in pacing instruction to provide opportunities for student success.
- Organizes students for effective instruction, assisting in the creation of the master schedule.
- Organizes and supervises remote instruction for students placed outside of the school building.
- Provides opportunities for success for all students.
Administrative
- Assists in the hiring process and onboarding processes.
- Supports evaluation and selection of materials and interventions.
- Monitors student progress and collects data as needed.
- Uses data collected to strategically support the needs of teachers and students.
- Helps determine and communicate specific student needs to teachers and contracted behavioral health professionals.
- Maintains accurate records measuring student achievement, attendance, and behavior.
- Effectively handles behavior incidents.
- Plans for and makes effective use of time, materials, and resources.
- Collaborates with base school administrators to monitor the progress of students.
- Serves as the School Testing Coordinator and plans/administers all division-wide and state-wide tests.
- Provides ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring to guide faculty and staff.
- Establishes, communicates, and maintains a high level of accountability for staff.
- Works to achieve division/school/department objectives.
- Adheres to board and school policies.
- Assists the Principal in establishing an effectively run secondary alternative school.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE |
Candidate must possess or be eligible for a Virginia Teaching License with an endorsement in a secondary education field.
Administrative Licensure is preferred.
